Early this year, we moved countries and left most of our belongings behind. My sewing machine and overlocker/serger came for the trip, and a box or two of supplies, but not much in the way of decoration. So my sewing space looks bland and boring:

The only decoration is a bug in the corner. Ooops, better do something about that (the bug and the lack of decoration!).
This is my little space is our home. My corner to just be me - creating stuff with my sewing machine. I want it to be an expression of who I am.
Etsy is celebrating unique-ness with their "Difference make us" campaign. What makes me different is my love of sewing (although I'm guessing I share that with you guys too!). It's funny the reaction I get when I tell people I sew. Some people tell me it's cool, some say they wish they could sew too, some give me a baffled look, wondering why I'd do something so old-fashioned.
But creating is something I have to do. I'm an engineer, but I'd much rather build with my own hands and my sewing machine. Bringing fabric and thread together to make something special gives me an amazing sense of accomplishment. I lose myself when I sew but somehow find myself as well.
Sewing is a big part of what makes me me!
So it's time to search Etsy to make my sewing space express who I am. Here are some of my favourite sewing wall art designs:
