Gingerbread Man, Penguin, Snowman & Reindeer

il_570xN

The Christmas softies are fun and simple to make! They are stitched entirely by hand, using a whip stitch around the felt edges, a running stitch across the arms and legs, and a stem stitch for the mouths on the gingerbread man/reindeer/snowman. The body-head-arms-legs-&-ears/antlers on reindeer are all together in one pattern shape for each softie – they are not attached separately which can be time consuming and difficult. The finished softies are approximately 3.5” x 5.5”. They are made from scraps of felt. Enlarge or reduce patterns to make the softies different sizes. Safety eyes are used for samples – other options for the eyes, are to make them using embroidery, paint or felt.
