Sewing Craft Kits: gift ideas for sewists
While there are a million and one things you can buy someone who sews, it’s hard to know what they want. Sending them to the craft store with a list can be intimidating to the non-sewer. Sewing craft kits make a great gift idea for sewists. A little package with the fabric and pattern for a project takes out all the stress and is a gift they’re sure to love.
Now, craft kits may bring to mind two pieces of cut out felt, some yarn and a plastic needle, but there are sewing kits designed for adults too. With Mother’s Day is right around the corner, here are some adorable sewing craft kits:

Fun sewing craft kit gifts for adults
The Sew Show has a fun collection of purse, bag and toy sewing kits. This storage basket is so cute and would be a great present for an experienced (or adventurous!) sewist!
Polly Chrome Crafts has beautiful felt craft sewing kits for all ages. The Woodland Garland kit would make a fantastic gift for the sewing Mum-to-be!
Tintangel have a cute collection of kits for felt animals in adorable scenes. They are like handmade Sylvanian family (but I wouldn’t let my daughter play with them!). I love the mouse playing the piano!
Beginner sewing craft kits for adults
The Quilted Jewellery Roll is one of the Liberty-inspired kits available from Jules Dorrington on Etsy. They make a great gift for a beginner sewist.
State of Muse has a selection of quilting and home accessory kits. The beginner’s sewing kit includes a pillowcase, tote bag and business card holder.
Embroidery sewing kits
Dandelion Stitchery has a big collection of cross-stitch kits, from simple to more complicated. I love the “Only you can get rid of your clouds” kit pictured above.
Oh Sew Bootiful also has a lovely range of embroidery kits, including the beautiful Bees and Wildflowers Hand Embroidery Kit.
The Make Arcade also have fun and cute cross-stitch and felt sewing kits. Make Today Amazing is gorgeous in its rainbow colours (but I also like More gin please and Pass the prosecco!)
Practical Craft Kits to Sew
I’m not a fan of sewing for the sake of it, and this insulated lunch bag sewing kit from Mouna Sew is a practical gift idea. It includes thermal fabric, thread and the pattern (which I think is in French).
If your sewist also does yoga, this yoga bag sewing kit is a fantastic gift, included water-repellant fabric, a buckle and straps and an iron-on motif. The pattern is in German and the kit ships within Europe.
Lastly, you can never have too many pin cushions, so why not gift a sewist a pincushion kit like this one from Sewmotion. They also have kits for cushions, quilts, table runners and hoop art.
